The September 26th White House ceremony to formally nominate Amy Coney Barrett to the Supreme Court has become one of the most prominent super-spreader events in the country. The event, which featured hundreds of guests and zero masks, has led to over a dozen direct, publicly-identified COVID-19 infections and a growing circle of secondary infections.
It continues to wreak havoc across Washington, D.C., Cleveland, and other cities where event guests went afterwards, in part because President Trump and the White House are willfully putting people in danger.

More than anyone else, Donald Trump has enabled, fostered, and exacerbated the COVID-19 pandemic that has killed over 350,000 Americans and sickened more than 19 million.
Trump has ignored the virus, deciding to instead make endless racist statements about China, lie to the American people about COVID's deadly impact, work against governors trying to be responsible, kneecap the economy, and encourage Americans to take part in activities that made them sick.
And when Trump got COVID-19 himself, he *still* held indoor rallies and met with donors at a big event before the news got out, putting thousands more at direct risk and many, many more in the range of the virus. His event announcing the nomination of Amy Coney Barrett to the Supreme Court became its own super-spreader event, having infected dozens of people. Further White House parties did the same.
After vaccines were approved, it also became clear that Trump was uninterested in any vaccine distribution plan. Instead, he's spent his time fighting his clear election loss.

Kentucky Senator Rand Paul was a major factor in the early proliferation of the coronavirus and continues to fight tooth-and-nail against scientists and medical professionals while spreading misinformation.

Utah Senator Mike Lee has been a leading voice in the fights against both doing anything about the spread of COVID-19 and helping those who have been affected by the economic hardship it has created.

Gov. Ron DeSantis of Florida has overseen one of the largest outbreaks of COVID-19 in the country. Florida has now had 700,000 people diagnosed with the coronavirus, while nearly 14,000 Floridians have died.
DeSantis has shouldered much of the blame for the outbreak, as his initial refusal to act and premature reopening led to the worst spike in the nation this summer.

Gov. Brian Kemp of Georgia has done such a poor job of controlling the outbreak in Georgia, even Donald Trump has criticized him.
Kemp watched as Georgia began to suffer from the virus, refused to shut down for nearly a month, opened the state far too early, and battled with public officials while refusing to allow mask orders. Nearly 7,000 Georgians have died of COVID-19.

Iowa Gov. Kim Reynolds has consistently rejected medical expert advice (even from the White House), dashed shelter-at-home orders at their most crucial, hidden COVID-19 data, and forced Iowans into danger. The result? Skyrocketing numbers of COVID-19 in the state.

Considered a rising political star, South Dakota Governor resisted taking any action on COVID-19 early on, when the state could have stopped its spread. In fact, she even disparaged masks.
As a result, cases spiked, especially in meatpacking plants and Sioux City. Noem downplayed the threat of the virus even afterwards and made months of poor decisions that has the state as one of the worst hotspots in the country today.
Even federal judges have condemned Noem for her failure to control the virus, with one calling South Dakota "now a very dangerous place in which to live due to the spread of COVID-19" and placing the blame squarely on Noem's poor judgment.

The top Republican in Wisconsin, Vos has used both his bully pulpit and the state’s conservative-controlled Supreme Court to limit Governor Tony Evers’ efforts at containing the virus at every turn. He led a lawsuit against Evers and wrested control of the state's COVID-19 response thanks to the conservative state Supreme Court.
Since winning the lawsuit, Vos has done nothing to stop the virus. As a result, Wisconsin’s COVID cases are at an all-time high. And they continue to climb

The Republican majority in the Pennsylvania House of Representatives has from the start of the pandemic undermined public safety as well as the safety of its own staffers and Capitol building employees. They refuse to enforce a mask rule on the floor of the House, resulting in several disasters.
State Reps. Andrew Lewis, Russ Diamond, and Kerry Benninghoff have been especially egregious in their actions.
Over 8,000 people in Pennsylvania have died of COVID-19. There have been more than 165,000 cases.

Michigan Republicans have refused to wear masks, sued to reopen the state multiple times, supported armed and maskless protestors marching on the state Capitol, and lied about the virus, and exposed other people once being diagnosed with COVID-19 themselves.
There have been several Republican lawmakers in particular who have been egregiously awful on the issue: Rep. Beau LaFave, Sen. Tom Barrett,
Nearly 140,000 Michiganders have been diagnosed with COVID-19 and over 7,000 have died of the virus.

Lt. Governor of Texas began the COVID-19 crisis not denying its existence, but simply saying that he thought that senior citizens should sacrifice themselves to keep the economy humming.
His subsequent statements and behavior have not been any better.
